A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a manhunt in connection with the tragic death of a mother who was allegedly pushed from a 15th-floor balcony in the Bronx while she held her 8-month-old daughter. The NYPD and U.S. Marshals Service apprehended Angel Carrasco late Wednesday, shortly after naming him the primary suspect in the death of 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez.
Witnesses reported that Ramirez was crying out for the suspect to stop just before the incident. While Ramirez died at a hospital, her baby girl was admitted as well and remained in critical condition, with authorities suggesting that her mother’s fall may have softened the impact for the infant. Carrasco faces multiple charges including murder and assault, and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. Sources indicate there had been previous domestic violence issues at Ramirez’s residence and police were seeking to interview her ex-boyfriend.
