Nick Swisher Warns MLB Lockout Could Result in Missed Games Next Season

World Series champion says potential MLB lockout could 'absolutely' cause cancelled games next season

In typical seasons, most Major League Baseball teams would be planning for the next year at this point. However, uncertainty looms as a lockout is likely to commence on December 1. The MLB and the Players Association are far apart on salary cap discussions, with owners advocating for its implementation and players opposing it. World Series champion Nick Swisher stated that games could “absolutely” be missed due to this division.

During a recent interview with OutKick, Swisher noted the leadership change in the MLBPA with Bruce Meyer now in charge after Tony Clark’s resignation in February. He expressed hope that both parties approach negotiations with genuine intent to reach a fair agreement. Swisher emphasized the importance of negotiating without a mindset of winning, stating, “we’re really, really far apart from each other right now, and the last thing we wanna do is slow this train down.”
